Summer Reading Kick-Off: Haitian Folkloric Dance for Kids

It's Make Music Day, get up on your feet and join us for an engaging workshop on Haitian folkloric dance. Explore various dances and rhythms in relation to the subject of liberation. The dances include Petwo (a dance tied to Haiti's revolutionary history), Ibo (a dance of resistance representing the tribe of the same name), and Nago (a warrior dance). You will also learn how the energy and stories of these dances can apply to the fight for liberation in today's world. No dance experience needed! This program is funded by New York State Senator Joseph Addabbo, Jr.
