Summer Reading Kick-Off: Swing! Jazz Dance for Kids

Celebrate Make Music Day and kick off your summer adventures with a journey through the world of swing! Originally a Black dance genre, swing has a rich history. We'll explore the instruments and musicians that have shaped it into the widespread phenomenon it is today. Learn the basics of the Lindy Hop and delve into the rhythm, bounce, and music of the swing era. Use your hands, feet, and voice to immerse yourself in the joy, fun, and excitement of jazz! Visit http://summerreading.queenslibrary.org for more programs, booklists, and more. This program is funded by New York City Council Member Nantasha Williams.
