Queens Public Library and Urban Stages are excited to invite early learners (ages 0-5) and their families to this special event in observance of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Join us in celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival, a traditional Chinese holiday. Originally a commemoration of the ancient poet Qu Yuan, the festival now consists of boat racing, special foods, and being together with family. In this program, we'll explore the holiday by learning songs and stories, dancing like we're rowing dragon boats ourselves, and a simple collective craft. Everyone will learn a few words in Mandarin too.
