Name The Library In Your Will Or Living Trust

The most popular way to leave a legacy gift to the Queens Public Library Foundation is to designate a gift through your will or trust, which is called a bequest.

You can choose to leave a specific amount of money to the Foundation, or you can leave a percentage of your total estate, which is called a residuary bequest. You can also choose to leave stocks or real estate.

If you are interested in leaving a bequest to the Library through your will, this sample language can be shared with your attorney:

I give, devise and bequeath (the sum of ____________ dollars), (all or ________percent of the rest, remainder and residue of my estate of every kind and description) to The Queens Library Foundation, Inc. (Tax ID #11-3009405), a nonprofit organization located at 89-11 Merrick Boulevard, Jamaica, NY 11432.

If you would like to designate your bequest to support a particular library branch, you can use this additional language to designate it:

It is my request that this gift be used for the benefit of (specific Library branch) of Queens Public Library.

Name The Library As A Beneficiary

You can choose to designate the Queens Library Foundation as the beneficiary of a retirement plan, pension or IRA; a life insurance policy; or a savings, checking, or brokerage account.
