The Queens Library provides public access to library computer workstations. Public use requires customer account log on (e.g., Queens Library card number and PIN) for all public access workstations except:
- Catalog-only workstations designated by the Library to access the Library’s online catalog and subscriptions to full text magazine articles, newspapers, and other designated electronic resources.
- Adult Learning Center computers where students can use computers to develop literacy skills.
- Some designated workstations at the Central Library are available on a first-come first-served basis with access to the library catalog, databases and other software.
Customers not eligible for a free library card account may pay a fee to open a library account and receive a library card.
Due to high demand for computer workstations, the amount of time of each computer session for each customer shall be time managed. Customers are limited to one hour of customer use per day which may be divided into multiple sessions. Customers may not use a library card other than their own.
Visitor cards for computer workstation use only, are available for $5 and are good for one day. Fee-based cardholders are required to abide by the same rules and time limits as any other customer.
