Get Involved at the Library

Volunteer Opportunities:

Minors (14 and older) are welcomed to apply year-round for volunteer positions with Queens Public Library.  New York State law mandates that youth under 14 are not allowed to volunteer unless under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian.

Information about volunteer opportunities, online/virtual projects, and step-by-step instructions on how to apply can be found on the Queens Public Library Volunteer Opportunities page.

Peer-to-Peer Service Collective

The Peer-to-Peer Service Collective (P2PSC) is an opportunity for high-school students, ages 14-18, to bring their ideas for community service projects to the attention of Queens Public Library and help develop opportunities for teens to lead presentations, workshops, and other activities to strengthen their academic skills, and obtain insight and resources that help navigate the high school journey.

Examples of previous Peer-to-Peer projects include:

  • Tips to Improve Your SHSAT Score & Navigating a Specialized High School [PRESENTATION]
  • Tricks to Make Math Easy & Fun [SATURDAY WORKSHOP SERIES]
  • Homework & Summer Academic Enrichment Helpers [STUDENT-LED CLUBS]
