Early Learning Services at Queens Public Library

Toddler Learning Centers

Designed to serve the needs of toddlers (approximately 18-38 months old) and their caretakers, Toddler Learning Centers (TLCs) are hosted at multiple Queens Public Library locations across the borough.

Over the course of five workshops, early learning professionals offer caregivers guidance about specific topics, including speech development, nutrition, early literacy, gross motor development, and more, while children play in a safe, nurturing environment and participate in guided activities.

Vist our Toddler Learning Center page to view participating locations and dates.

Kickoff to Kindergarten (K2K)

Kickoff to Kindergarten enables young children, ages 3-5, to develop their early literacy skills—and begin a lifelong love of reading! Meanwhile, parents and caregivers are guided to become confident in their ability to support their child’s development with our curriculum aligned with the Science of Reading. Classes are offered virtually and in-person, with translation support in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.

Over 7 weeks, weekly group sessions for kids and caregivers feature:

  • Guided activities
  • Storytimes
  • Tips for promoting at-home literacy
  • Opportunities for private, personalized guidance and feedback
