Accessing HyRead Using a Web Browser

You can access HyRead on a web browser without logging in. Visit the Hyread website here and start browsing.
 

Accessing HyRead Using the App 

What You Will Need

  • A Queens Public Library Card
  • A Queens Public Library PIN
  • A valid email address
  • An Android, iOS device, or Kindle Fire, or compatible web browser

Install the HyRead App 

Download the HyRead mobile app from the Google Play store (for Android devices) or Apple Store (for iOS/Apple devices). To install using Microsoft, click here.

How to Log in to the App 

  • Open the app on your device.
  • There should be 3 icons at the bottom of the homepage. Click the icon for "My"
  • Click "Add Libraries" in the top right corner.
  • Type in and select "Queens Public Library," then click "Add Entrance" in the bottom right corner.
  • Now, "Queens Public Library" will show up as an available library - click "Login"
  • In the next screen, enter the following information: 
    For "Account," enter your library card number.
    For "Password," enter your library card pin number. 
    For "Appointment notice," enter your email address.
  • Click the circle next to "HyRead Privacy Policy"
  • Click "Login," then click "Confirm"
  • Click "Go to Library" in the "Queens Public Library" section
  • Start browsing!
  • To borrow an item, hit "Borrow" on the bottom right corner of the item's page.
