Literary Thursdays: Gary Myers, Author of “Once A Giant”

Join us for a special in-person episode of Literary Thursdays! Queens native and former Fresh Meadows resident Gary Myers is an NFL journalist and New York Times bestselling author. He has written the definitive book about the Super Bowl champion 1986 New York Giants. This story serves as a blueprint for all sports teams, as it pertains to life after the confetti has fallen for the last time. “Once a Giant: A Story of Victory, Tragedy, and Life After Football” includes interviews with coaches and players from the 1986 Giants and shines a light on the athletes' lives, the friendships that remain, their financial struggles, health issues, and transitioning from life as a star athlete to what’s next. Many players face these harsh realities, but the ‘86 Giants confronted and survived them together. Join us and discuss it all! Limited seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Books will be available for sale and signing.
