The Water Brought Us is a series of fiber art and art quilts by artist Laura R. Gadson depicting imagery related to the Middle Passage during the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. During this presentation, Ms. Gadson will present images of this group of work, explain how they were created, and discuss their inspiration from historical facts and folklore with a focus on turning tragedy into triumph.
