Seneca's Blues: Getting Through the Day and Becoming Resilient

Join Pat Wictor, an American blues, folk musician, guitarist, and singer-songwriter, for an uplifting musical experience. Blending the soulful traditions of blues music with the timeless wisdom of the ancient Roman philosopher Seneca, have in common a similar perspective and way of handling the troubles of life. Both acknowledge hardship and loss as expected parts of living. The blues and Stoicism help us to carry on, and to transcend difficulties and even find joy in life. Not through the denial of suffering, but through radical acceptance of the challenges of life and reframing them to call upon our best capacities - perseverance, courage, reason, and even humor. The blues and Seneca’s Stoic philosophy are both about getting through the day and becoming more resilient.
