Join us every Thursday in June as Langston Hughes Community Library & Cultural Center celebrates Black Music Month (also known as African-American Music Appreciation Month) with a series of performers from Queens and throughout NYC. Help us celebrate the diverse musical genres that have impacted and continue to impact Black culture! June 2: Battle of the DJs: The Evolution of Hip Hop Music ft. DJ Wiz, DJ Vern, and DJ Teddy Ted & Special K. June 9: Urban Violinist Shayshahn McPherson June 16: Gospel Fest with Honrette Washington & Friends June 23: Jazz Night featuring Ashley Keiko, Urban Saxophonist June 30: Kim Clarke presents R&B Retrospective with Joe Boykin and Patsy Grant This program is part of Queens Rising, a multi-disciplinary arts celebration created to highlight the borough's culture and creative diversity.
