Pride: Give Them Their Flowers - Pride Art for Kids
In this hands-on art workshop, children will learn queer history through flowers — symbols of celebration, defiance, and coded communication throughout LGBTQ+ history. Children will explore archival materials and discover violets through Sappho, carnations through Oscar Wilde, the Victorian “Language of Flowers,” and flower crowns through Marsha P. Johnson.
Using paper, real flowers, and sculptural materials, children will craft their own flower crowns adorned with elements that celebrate who they are.
Supplies are limited. First-come, first-served.
