Introduction to Finding Grants

Are you new to fundraising? Discover what funders are looking for in nonprofits seeking grants, and learn how to find potential funders, in this introductory class. Learn the 10 most important things you need to know about finding grants, including: 1. Who funds nonprofits and what are their motivations? 2. What do funders really want to know about the organizations they are interested in funding? 3. How do you identify potential funders and make the first approach? An overview of Foundation Directory Professional, the most comprehensive prospect research tool for foundation and corporate fundraisers, will be provided. Foundation Directory Professional has over 242,000 U.S. and international grant makers and is available for public use in the Central Library.
