October 17: Diversity in the Wedding Industry. The program will focus on the wedding industry as it developed in Europe and America. We will look at bridal design from long ago as well as diverse wedding traditions. November 21: Harlem Renaissance December 12: Diversity in Toyland: This conversation will cover dolls from the earliest Jumeau dolls from Europe to American rag dolls made by enslaved people and Sun-Man, the first mass-manufactured Black action figure. We will also learn about dolls in wheelchairs and dolls depicting people with special needs such as Downs Syndrome.
