College Readiness: Writing Lab for Your College/Graduate School Application Essay

In a one-on-one session with Dr. DeLuca, you will review your application materials for the "personal statement" or application essay. The student should bring all relevant application instructions to the session, especially "the prompt" (the question or statement) that the college or university wants the student to respond to in writing. The goal is to present your "best self" in writing to be seen as a good candidate for admission. Appointments between 2:30—4:00pm. DeLuca, Ph.D., was the Director of the Honors College at SUNY Old Westbury before he retired. He has more than 30 years of experience in higher education -- 15 years as a professor of English, and 15 years successively as Academic Director, Assistant Dean, and Dean of Academic Affairs at SUNY and CUNY colleges and universities.
