Volunteers provide guidance in understanding basic academic subject areas including English, Math, Science, Reading, and History.

Volunteers help...Organize 8 Million Books...

Volunteers help organize our growing collection of books, magazines, movies, music and games to the public to enjoy.  

As library aides, volunteers play an important role in helping keep a collection of over 8 million items circulating and available to Queens residents.

Volunteers Help...Adults Speak a New Language

Volunteers can serve as literacy tutors and conversation group leaders to help adults learn to read and speak a brand new language.   

Receive training and support to provide one-on-one and small group assistance to beginner and intermediate level students within our Adult Learner Program.
