This four-session series is a program of financial literacy where users will learn how to download and navigate financial and banking applications. Learn how to use the built-in security tools on your mobile device to enhance privacy and restrict access to unauthorized users in this hands-on workshop. We will learn how to protect our device from brute force attacks, enable secure lock screen controls, and remotely wipe personal data from a stolen device. You are invited to attend the information session on how to join the Friends of the Library group. As a Friend of the Library you will create public support for the Library,
sponsor programs designed to enhance the cultural life of the community, work with library staff on legislative advocacy, encourage volunteer assistance, and provide direct financial assistance by working with library staff to purchase special items not included in the library budget. Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
