Spelling Bee Championship

Children in grades 3-6 will compete in the North Forest Park spelling bee! Children will compete in two groups: grades 3-4 and grades 5-6. The winner in each group will receive a prize and will be invited to compete in the Spring 2018 Queens Library Spelling Bee at Central Library.

Hypertension and You

Location: North Forest Park

Nearly a third of adults in the US have high blood pressure. Come learn from the experts how you can prevent this illness and how you can manage it if you already have it. All are welcome!


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
