Have you ever wished you could speak Spanish? Learn how to use Transparent Language Online and benefit from an 8-week group learning experience too! You will need a Queens Library card and a computer, tablet, or smart phone to access Transparent Language to do your weekly assignments. Bring your device to the first session for help in setting up your Transparent Language Online account. Space is limited and preregistration is required.

Getting Personal: Writing About Your Family History with Author Bob Brody

Children's Floral Creation Workshop

Children ages 6-12 will learn about the art of floral arrangements using fresh roses, carnations and greenery. They will create their own Cupcake Centerpiece and take their materpieces home. This program is free. All supplies will be provided. Pre-registration is required.

Adult Book Discussion

Becoming friends with Josef Weber, an old man who's particularly loved in her community, Sage Singer is shocked when one day he asks her to kill him and reveals why he deserves to die, causing her to question her beliefs--and to wonder if his request would be murder or justice.

Join us as we discuss Jodi Picoult's novel, "The Storyteller" which deals with secrets, guilt and the human capacity for extreme evil.


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
