ShapeUp NYC instructor Mekki leads this seated fitness class which emphasizes functionality, strength, and flexibility with options for ranges of motion. Melodic Masters of American Musical Theatre: Rudolf Friml

Early musical theatre in America featured production numbers with songs that were especially memorable for their lovely melodic content. Often, these early stage musicals would feature four or five songs that would become hits and are remembered still today. Join Jack Merlis, lecturer in the Road Scholar (Elderhostel) program, for a discussion of the operettas/musicals, songs and piano pieces composed by Rudolf Friml (1879 - 1972) and his background and collaborators.

Discovery Education has produced an incredible 32-minute behind-the-scenes Virtual Field Trip about the making of the Spider-Man movie. Come and learn about the style of the movie and how the directors and animators created a movie that felt like a comic book that came to life. Healthy Eating

We all want to eat healthy foods, but it can be hard! Come learn from the experts at H+H/Elmhurst about what foods are recommended, as well as some tips for success. All are welcome!


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
