AARP Foundation Tax Counseling For Low Income Older Adults

Location: Bellerose
Registration: Not required

IRS certified volunteers, sponsored by AARP Foundation, will complete and e-file your 2018 tax returns on a first-come, first-served basis. You must bring a NYS Driver’s License or Non-Driver’s ID; copy of the 2017 return(s); SS card or ITIN for everyone on your return; SSA-1099 form; all W-2; 1099R, 1099G, 1099 MISC or other 1099 forms; healthcare forms; self-employment forms; 1098T from college; mortgage statement; and cancelled check for refunds.

Kickoff to Kindergarten

Parents and other caregivers can help children learn the skills they need to be successful before they start kindergarten. During eight weekly sessions, library staff will show parents, caregivers, and children how to use games, hands-on activities, and stories that help build the most important language and social skills. Healthy Brain, Healthy Life

Gain insight into some of the best ways to reduce the risk of cognitive impairment as we age. Learn some steps to take to have a healthy brain and a healthy life by experiencing techniques designed to keep your brain happy and well. All are welcome.


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
