Aging Mastery: 50+ Wellness Ten-Session Workshop

The Aging Mastery Program is a ten-session workshop. Classes are led by experts in their field. Topics include exercise, sleep, nutrition, finances, planning, relationships, medication, community engagement, & falls prevention. Preregistration is required. ShapeUp NYC instructor Gloria leads this total body workout that incorporates techniques such as kicks and punches that move to a rapid pace. This fitness class is designed to promote cardiovascular fitness, strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility using high energy and motivating music. Wear comfortable clothes and sneakers; bring a water bottle and towel. Space is limited. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bring Your Story: Irish Step Dancing

Dancers from The Ciara Greene School of Irish Step Dancing will delight audiences with their high kicking and lively dancing. After this performance complete with costumes, music, traditional Irish step dancing shoes, and some history on Irish dance, audience members will be walking away humming to the tune of an Irish jig!

Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
