Creative Aging: Pastel Art Workshop

Participants will strengthen their drawing skills by working with oil-based pastels. We will explore the range of techniques pastels offer and examine the medium's potential for expressiveness. Participants will spend time working with photo-based imagery as a source and point of departure in constructed drawings. Preregistration and a commitment to attend all sessions is required. Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
