Kidney Health

About half of all adults in the US have one or more chronic health condition and more than 20 million people in the US may have chronic kidney disease, a condition where your kidneys are damaged and cannot filter blood as well as healthy kidneys. Come learn about kidney diseases and some of the conditions that often accompany kidney diseases from a nephrologist, Dr. Coritsidis.

Traditional Hatha Yoga with Sandhya Kaurwar

Traditional hatha yoga focuses on increasing strength and flexibility. Author Talk: Partha Banerjee Presents Music Box and Moonshine

Partha Banerjee is a human rights activist, writer, educator, media critic, and musician. Born in Kolkata, India, he now lives in Brooklyn, New York and has published books in both Bengali and English. His latest book, Music Box and Moonshine, is a collection of 18 short stories from both undivided and partitioned Bengal, translated from Bengali to English. This book is a part of his lifelong quest to bring Bengali literature to all parts of the world.

Babywearing Education

Do you have a baby carrier you've been meaning to use, but feel overwhelmed every time you try? Are you familiar with babywearing safety? Babywearing International of NYC's team of volunteer babywearing educators are here to help! Explore our baby carrier lending and teaching library, or bring your own carrier from home to get hands-on support.

All caregivers are welcome. Meetings are baby, toddler, and older child-friendly.


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
