Summer Reading: Author Visit: Caitlin McDonagh ("The ABCs of What I Can Be")

Children and parents can join us for an author visit with Caitlin McDonagh, the author-illustrator of "The ABCs of What I Can Be." Caitlin will talk about the creation of her picture book, and will even lead our children through a simple craft activity. Please join us!

Kickoff to Kindergarten: Advanced Class

Location: Windsor Park
Registration: Not required

During this five-week course, our adults will continue using Dialogic Reading Techniques that they have learned in the first course, while our children will learn more about shapes and letters. This course is only available to families who have attended and "graduated" from our eight-week Kickoff to Kindegarten course. Registration is done by contacting Miss Adrianne, our children's librarian and our Kickoff to Kindergarten: Advanced Class teacher here at our library.

Dungeons & Dragons Adventures

Location: Windsor Park

We invite you to join Dungeons & Dragons Adventures (a fantasy role-playing game). This is a paper and pen role-playing game using 5th edition rules. Newcomers are welcome and you will be taught how to create a character and how to play the game. Veteran players and game masters, you are also welcome to use our room for your own campaign. This program is for 16 years old and up.

Summer Reading: Youth Public Speaking Workshop

Location: Windsor Park

Children and teens (ages 8-13) can join us for two sessions to learn how to improve and develop their public speaking skills while building their self-confidence. Our young people will be taught by Ms. Letitea Archer, a noted teacher/facilitator in the art of public speaking. Our children/teens can practice their public speaking skills in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Join us as we celebrate the conclusion of the Summer Reading program here at the Windsor Park Library!


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
