Easy, Gentle Yoga for Adults

Location: Whitestone
Registration: Not required

This yoga class uses poses to extend and expand joints and muscles. Relaxation and meditation is the goal. Participants must bring a mat, wear comfortable clothing, and bring a bottle of water. Space is limited and on a first come; first served basis.

Achieving Balance in an Unstable World

Do you sometimes feel you have too much on your plate? In this workshop, learn how to create serenity in the midst of chaos through the practice of meditation. Alma Villegas, Ph.D., a practicing psychologist and Raja Yoga meditator will show you how to stay on course and sail smoothly through the new year, no matter how turbulent the waters around you become.


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
