Pathway to U.S. Citizenship: Becoming a U.S. Citizen and Building Your Civic Knowledge

Oral History Workshop at Sunnyside Library

Learn how to conduct a great interview to capture the history of your family or neighborhood as a Queens Memory volunteer interviewer. Queens Memory volunteers are working all over the borough to collect residents' stories and photos for safekeeping in the Queens Library digital archives. You will learn how to prepare for an interview, ask good questions, make a high-quality recording, and submit your completed interview to the library.

Credit 101 - Presented by Business Outreach Center Network

Your credit score affects your employment, insurance, housing, ability to borrow, and cost to borrow money. This workshop will cover what credit is, factors that influence your credit score, and how to obtain a free credit report. Korean for Beginners II

Creative Aging: Intermediate Drawing

Location: Sunnyside

This nine-week course for adults 50+ will focus on learning two systems: perspective and proportions for portraiture. We will use a variety of dry and wet drawing materials. The first several sessions will review processes and ideas from the "Drawing to See" course. We will work on self-portraits as well as portraits of participants in the course. Space is limited. Chair Stretching and Guided Meditation

We will learn and practice stretches that you can do in a chair. To increase feelings of relaxation, energy, and overall well-being, the program also includes a guided meditation.

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
