Vijay R. Nathan, recipient of Queens Arts Council New Works grant, will read from his soon to be published poetry collection entitled: "Celebrity Sadhana, Or, How to Meditate with a Hammer". These poems imagine meditative moments from the sadhana (spiritual practice) of Hollywood's elite. and include the unauthorized appearances of the personas of Joaquin Phoenix, Natalie Portman, and Shia Labeouf, among others.

A Holiday Celebration with Lois Bruno

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
