Shape Up NYC: Cardio Dance Fitness

Instructor Althea Bazemore leads this fitness class that uses easy to follow dance moves geared at increasing cardiovascular fitness, body toning and burning calories. Wear loose clothing and sneakers. Be sure to bring a bottle of water. Space is limited. Participation is first come, first served.

Come learn from a Registered Dietician Nutritionist on how you can incorporate delicious plant foods in your meals. There will be plenty of time for Q&A.


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
