Family New Year's Countdown and Celebration

Kids of all ages are invited to celebrate the coming of the New Year 2018. We will ring in the New Year with a story or two, resolutions, and noisemakers and hats. Volunteers from the New York State Tax Department will guide you through tax preparation software available on their website as you learn how to prepare and e-file your federal and state income tax returns at no cost. Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
