Botanical Watercolor Painting

Location: Richmond Hill
Registration: Registration is not yet open for this program. Please check back closer to the program date.

Learn to tone fruit, vegetables, leaves, and branches. Focus on concepts of light source, value, and shading to create form. Learn about brushes and techniques to create different leaf and flower forms. Learn about surface design, watercolor effects and realism versus abstraction. Intermediate Level Course in Watercolor Painting. Registration required call 718-849-7150.

Broken Heart Week: Sing-Along Screening of "Frozen"

When their kingdom becomes trapped in perpetual winter, fearless Anna joins forces with mountaineer Kristoff and his reindeer sidekick to find Anna's sister, Snow Queen Elsa, and break her icy spell. Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.

Significant Accomplishments:
Our Friends Group works with the library to provide books, materials, programs and more for one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Queens. We are excited to announce an exciting new reading series event. We are always looking more members!

Friends Fun Facts: The Richmond Hill Library was founded by the Twentieth Century Club on April 8, 1899. It became part of the Queens Borough Public Library in 1901. In 1905, the present Carnegie building was opened for service.
