It's Time for Kind: Kindness Yoga

"Three things in human life are important. The first is to be kind. The second is to be kind. And the third is to be kind." ~ Henry James
In these classes, we will explore the concept of kindness, and how practicing it towards ourselves and others can impact every aspect of our lives. The theme of kindness and its benefits will be woven into the sequence of postures in this class. If you have a yoga mat, feel free to bring it. There will be extras available.

Animal Science with "Erik The Reptile Guy"

In this Rescue and Awareness Animal Science presentation, children will meet Erik the Reptile Guy's newest rescued animals. This presentation discusses topics of the life cycles, food webs, adaptation, endangered species, and conservation of a variety of reptiles. Come meet live frogs, lizards, snakes, and more as Erik the Reptile Guy teaches respect and awareness of nature!. For children ages 6-12.

Insomnia

Location: Peninsula

Sleeplessness can result in ongoing fatigue, irritability, poor concentration, and increased risk of serious illnesses. We will look at common causes of sleeplessness, and learn and practice some sleep-enhancing thoughts and behaviors to help us get the peaceful rest we need.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
