ShapeUp NYC: Chair Aerobics for Adults

Location: Middle Village
Registration: Not required

ShapeUp NYC instructor Doris leads this chair-based class to enhance strength, flexibility, and cardio. Exercises target both upper and lower body. Participants can work at their own pace based on ability. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel and water bottle. Space is limited. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Legends and Myths of Latin America and Crafts

Location: Middle Village

In this interactive program, we will read out loud a selection from Latin American mythology, featuring a particular motif. To bring the story to life and to connect generations and cultures, we will create artwork featuring traditional designs and themes. In this hands-on program, families will have a chance to celebrate rich Latin American heritage and its folklore. This program is in Spanish.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
