ShapeUp NYC: Chair Aerobics for Adults

Location: Middle Village

ShapeUp NYC instructor Doris leads this chair-based class to enhance strength, flexibility, and cardio. Exercises target both upper and lower body. Participants can work at their own pace based on ability. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel and water bottle. Space is limited. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Easter Concert at Middle Village

Location: Middle Village

Please join us in celebration of upcoming Easter with traditional folkloric music and songs sung in the different languages of Eastern Europe. Our guest is Katerina Visnjic, who was originally trained as a classical pianist, but also studied folk accordion. She has performed on Easter National Television several times as well as in concerts in New York and California. When she is not singing Katerina is a professor teaching physics at Princeton University.

Chair Stretching and Guided Meditation

We will learn and practice stretches that you can do in a chair. To increase feelings of relaxation, energy, and overall well-being, the program also includes a guided meditation.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
