Meditation: Connecting, Mind, Body, and Spirit

Location: Middle Village
Registration: Not required

Medical research has uncovered amazing facts about meditation and the body-mind-spirit connection. Join a long time meditator, Dr. Frank Pawlowski, to learn about how meditation can be used to minimize the effects of stress and speed healing. Learn the tools needed to make meditation part of daily life. The program will include a meditation sitting and a question-and-answer discussion period.

Chair Yoga With Irene Failenbogen

Location: Middle Village
Registration: Not required

There's no need to bring a mat to this yoga class. Irene Failenbogen will teach techniques and exercises that can be practiced while seated in chairs. Space is limited. Preregistration is required. Please wear comfortable clothing and sneakers.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
