LEGO Robotics Club

In partnership with NYC First, McGoldrick Library brings robotics and coding to the community. Kids and teens (grade 4-8) will learn how to code and use LEGO EV3. By following simple directions, they will be able to code and control their own robot to walk, talk, drive, grab, and spin. Registration is required.

Asian Pacific Heritage Month: Chinese Crafts with Master Lu and Sharlene Chou

In the Chinese Calendar, it is the Year of the Pig. Master Lu and Sharlene Chou will create paper cutting designs and teach you how to make whimsical, funny pig figurines made of real egg shells in order to celebrate the calendar year. Join us to learn about the Year of the Pig and take home your own paper cutting design and egg-pig to display on your shelf.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
