Save Money, E-File Your Taxes for Free

If your 2018 income is $66,000 or less, you qualify to receive free online tax return filing assistance. Volunteers from the New York State Tax Department and Urban Upbound will guide you through tax preparation software available on their website as you prepare and e-file your federal and state income tax returns at no cost.

Free Citizenship Classes

Location: Elmhurst

Details: Customers are required to attend all sessions of this program. Registering for this session will reserve your spot for the entire program.

Learn everything you need to know about American history, government, and culture to pass the citizenship exam. Participants must attend the entire 12-class series. Please arrive at 10 am sharp on Tuesday, January 8 to register in person at the Elmhurst Library/ Adult Learning Center (first-come, first-served) or call 718-278-4303 to preregister in advance. Candidates must be green card holders.

This six-session series is a program of financial literacy where users will learn how to download and navigate financial and banking applications. Space! The Cosmos For Kids

Space! The Cosmos For Kids is a techno-space-dance-party for kids. Each song includes dancing, music technology and information about our solar system to a thumping beat. This program is free. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required. For children ages 6 to 12.

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
