Free Citizenship Classes

Registration: Not required

Learn everything you need to know about American history, government, and culture to pass the citizenship exam. Register in person at the library on Tuesday, July 10 at 10AM or call 718-278-4303 to preregister in advance. Students should have a copy of their green card when they come to register. Participants must to attend the entire 12 week class series. Candidates must be green card holders. The first day of class is registration day where they should have a copy of their green card.

Queens has a history filled with fascinating firsts, cool characters, and ramshackle ruins. Join us as author Richard Panchyk reveals some of the “Hidden History of Queens” including the nation's first modern highway, the first-ever transatlantic flight, the eerie remnants of Fort Tilden in the Rockaways, and the rifle range at Creedmoor Park.

• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
