ShapeUp NYC: Beginner Yoga

ShapeUp NYC instructor Jairo leads this fitness class where participants will practice beginning Vinyasa postures to warm up the body, bring flexibility to all muscles and joints, and wake up the nervous system followed by stretching exercises and ending with deep relaxation techniques. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for exercise; bring a yoga mat and a bottle of water. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Celebrate Peruvian Independence Day with Food and Music

Location: Corona

Pachamama Peruvian Arts performs traditional music from Peru. 2-3 p.m. Enjoy and savor Ceviche de Chocho beans/Tarwi from Peru. These pearly white beans are richer in protein than quinoa, have healthy fats (omega-3s), and are high in dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Dessert will include carrot cake and chicha morada. 3-4 p.m. Supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
