Changing Minds Film Series

Summer is here! Still feeling the stress of the school year? Want to unwind and have a positive summer? Come cool off and relieve any stress at our mental health film screening with topics like anxiety and depression. At the Queens Library, we have your back. Mental Health First Aid with Thrive NYC

Cambria Heights Library will host Thrive NYC for free training in Mental Health First Aid.
This eight-hour training teaches the skill to provide initial support when someone nearby experiences a mental health crisis.

A Balloon Show with Nick The Balloonatic

QEDC: Business Plan Competition

The Queens Economic Development Corporation’s Annual Queens StartUP! Business Plan Competition begins in September 2018. The competition gives entrepreneurs a chance to strengthen their business knowledge, learn about business trends, and gain insights into starting and growing a business while also introducing them to the vast resources available to them at Queens Library. We Do Family Research

The Empowered Gardener Series: Final Harvest

Location: Cambria Heights
Registration: Not required

We will look at our final harvests and learn about the Plant Hardiness Zones as it relates to the various plants in our garden. We will share information on planting bulbs and preparing your Christmas and other potted plants so they will thrive in the spring.

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.
As a Friend, you will:
• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
