Kickoff to Kindergarten Spring 2019

Location: Briarwood
Registration: Registration is not yet open for this program. Please check back closer to the program date.
Details: Customers are required to attend all sessions of this program. Registering for this session will reserve your spot for the entire program.

This is for children ages 3-5 and their parents/caregivers, who can help children learn the skills they need to be successful before they start kindergarten. During the eight weekly sessions, the parents or caregivers and the children will learn how to use games, hands-on activities, and stories that help build the most important language and social skills. Preregistration is required; please call the Briarwood Library at 718-658-1680 or come in person to register.

Parents and students (4th to 8th grade) can learn more about specialized high schools. A representative from the NYC Department of Education will be available to answer any questions you may have. Understanding Antibiotics

Lifesaving antibiotics can cure dangerous bacterial infections, but did you know that antibiotics do not help fight viruses? In fact, the main driving factors behind antibiotic resistance are the overuse and misuse of antibiotics. Come learn from an infectious disease pharmacist about when antibiotics are and are not needed, as well as the potential harms of using antibiotics. All are welcome.
