This course will help you learn the correct words and phrases to use when talking to your doctor about your health. Crocheting with Barbara

Have you ever wanted to learn how to crochet? This is a beginner crocheting class for anyone interested in learning the craft. Gather and socialize with others who share your interest and perhaps gain a few tips and tricks as you work on your own creations! All materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Preschool Science Storytime

Parents and children ages 3-5 discover and learn together. Each science storytime includes one or two storybooks, a song, vocabulary, and an exploration time. Each session is forty-five minutes, exploring the fundamental science concepts like sound, light/shadow, measuring, wind, water, and balance.

Family Movie: "Smallfoot"

Visit the Briarwood library to watch the movie "Smallfoot" (2018, PG). This movie is an animated adventure for all ages. Smallfoot turns the Bigfoot legend upside down when a bright young Yeti finds something he thought didn’t exist—a human. News of this “smallfoot” throws the simple Yeti community into an uproar over what else might be out there in the big world beyond their snowy village, in a new story about friendship, courage, and the joy of discovery.

The Whole Food Plant-Based Diet Revolution: Discussion and Film Screening

Local resident and educator Mike McGowan will discuss the connection our choices have on animal welfare, climate change, and ourselves. Join us for an illustrated presentation of the latest findings of the benefits of a vegan diet followed by a screening of the documentary "Vegucated" (2011). The film follows three meat and cheese loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks.

Join us for "The Grinch" (2018, PG). The Grinch attempts to undermine the annual Christmas celebration at Whoville with the help of his loyal dog and reindeer. He disguises himself as Santa Claus and tries to steal all the presents, but his cover is threatened by an earnest young girl.

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
