Knitting With Lilli

Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit? This is a beginner knitting class for anyone interested in learning the craft. Gather and socialize with others who share your interest and perhaps gain a few tips and tricks as you work on your own creations! All materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Registration is required and limited to 15 participants so be sure to register for a spot by phone at 718-658-1680 or in person.

Writing Workshop with New York Writers Coalition Leader Rhonda Zangwill

Reimagine End of Life Week is a city-wide exploration of big questions about life and death through creativity and conversation. Join NY Writers Coalition for a special creative writing workshop exploring end-of-life themes. NYWC’s workshop leader and the author and editor Rhonda Zangwill will lead the group through writing prompts touching on legacy, endings, and imagination - or you can write what you feel. Share in the dialogue about loss, denial, wonder, and preparation through writing.

Family Movie: "The Polar Express"

Location: Briarwood
Registration: Not required

Visit Briarwood Library and watch the family movie "The Polar Express" (2004, G). "The Polar Express" is about a doubting 8-year-old boy who is whisked to the North Pole on a magical train for a meeting with Santa. Meanwhile, the train's conductor, along with the other young passengers, help turn the boy's crisis in faith into a wondrous journey of self-discovery.
