Toddler Time

Location: Baisley Park
Registration: Not required

Storytime is a great way to foster literacy skills and encourage reading! Children 2-4 years old accompanied by an adult are invited to the library for read alouds, finger plays, music, and peer interaction. Families will have the opportunity to connect with each other for support and resources.

Summer Reading Kids Creative Crafts

Location: Baisley Park
Registration: Not required

Children ages 4-12 are invited to have fun at the library during the summer! Children will use various materials such as feathers, origami paper, pastel crayons, sand, and more to create a masterpiece! Children younger than seven years old must be accompanied by a grown-up.

Baisley STEM Makerspace: Architect Building

Location: Baisley Park

Children ages five to twelve are invited to become an architect at the library! Children will use foam cylinders to create an architectural structure. Children younger than seven must be accompanied by a grown-up.

Summer Reading Fun Friday

Children ages 6-12 are invited to join us on Fridays, when we play games, watch movies, or create a craft! Children younger than seven years old must be accompanied by a grown-up. Childcare centers with four or more children must register for every summer program. Space is limited.

Baisley STEM Makerspace: Moon Sand

Location: Baisley Park
Registration: Not required

Children ages five to twelve can come to the library and make moon sand! Children will use household ingredients to create moon sand. Children younger than seven must be accompanied by a grown-up.

Google CS First Programming and Coding

Location: Baisley Park
Registration: Not required

Join us at the library for a free computer programming class. Children ages 8-12 years old will create animations, interactive artwork, photograph filters, and other exciting artistic projects. This is a continuous four-week program, two days a week (Wed./ Thurs.). Seats are limited. Must be able to attend all sessions. Registration is required. Call 718-529-1590 to register.

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.

Significant Accomplishments:
The Friends organized a wonderful “Wine and Cheese Fundraiser and Membership Drive” to support Buy-A-Book program and supported this year’s rally at Baisley Park to save libraries.

The Friends was formed out of the Baisley Park Civic Association.
