Mad Science STEM Workshops at Baisley Park

An educational fun and learning experience with Mad Science. Children will engage in exciting hands-on activities, watch spectacular demonstrations, participate in science discussions, and take home things that they have made themselves. Space is limited. It's Time for Kind: On the Spot Activities Kindness Coloring

It’s Time for Kind: Kids’ Box Challenge

Location: Baisley Park

Ages 5-12, join us at the Baisley Park Library as we spread kindness! Every half hour, we will choose a child to pick from our kindness box and perform an act of kindness. Children will learn empathy skills and the importance of being kind.

LINC's mission is to engage families and community members to support young readers in high need neighborhoods. Children will listen to a read aloud, and conduct a writing activity that enhances their reading comprehension and writing skills. For grades K-5.

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.

Significant Accomplishments:
The Friends organized a wonderful “Wine and Cheese Fundraiser and Membership Drive” to support Buy-A-Book program and supported this year’s rally at Baisley Park to save libraries.
