STACKS Afterschool

Location: Baisley Park
Registration: Not required

Join us at the library for a free after-school program! STACKS is a curriculum based after-school program that assists children with their homework assignments and projects, and do a curriculum based writing activity or craft after homework hour. Ages 6-14. Hours are 3:00-5:30pm. Transportation not provided.

My Baby and Me at Baisley Park

Location: Baisley Park
Registration: Not required

Babies and their accompanying grown-up can enjoy stories, music, nursery rhymes, toys, and peer interaction! Families will have the opportunity to connect with each other for support and resources. Ages 6mo-2yrs.

South African Storytelling and Mask Making

Broken Heart Week: Rate Your Blind Date with a Book

Express Ya Self

Location: Baisley Park
Registration: Not required

This interactive workshop will employ live music performance and creative writing to help students discover their personal voice through poetry and songwriting exercises. Angela Wildflower is a Music, TV and Film Actress.


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.

Significant Accomplishments:
The Friends organized a wonderful “Wine and Cheese Fundraiser and Membership Drive” to support Buy-A-Book program and supported this year’s rally at Baisley Park to save libraries.

The Friends was formed out of the Baisley Park Civic Association.
