Summer Reading Poetry Time with Charles Waters

Charles Waters leads children ages 6-12 in an appreciation of the sound of poetry. Participants will snap their fingers and clap their hands to the rhythm of poems read aloud, and will echo words in a call-and-response pattern.

Hands-On STEM Energy Workshops!

Join Queens Public Library, the Department of Citywide Administrative Services, and Solar One for hands-on STEM activities! Solar One is a nonprofit sustainability education organization based in NYC. Throughout the workshops, Solar One educators will work with children and teens to explore energy efficiency, solar power, and more!
Space is limited. Pre-Registration is required at the childrens reference desk only. No online registration is available.

Animals Rock! with Queens Library Summer Reading

This animal show will rock your library with many creatures. Discover why frogs sound like a drum, how some bugs sing & how animals make music. Meet frogs, bugs, a bunny, guinea pigs, reptiles, birds

Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
