Butterfly Program

Location: Arverne
Registration: Not required

Raise caterpillars into butterflies in our library and plant a butterfly garden out front. The caterpillar/butterfly kit and habitat includes a voucher for five painted lady caterpillars to redeem when needed. The caterpillar to butterfly process takes three weeks and kids will be able to observe the metamorphosis over the period. After a few days of having our butterflies, there will be more butterfly crafts; then we will have a butterfly release party. All are welcome!

Exploring Dinosaurs: National Geographic Kids

Location: Arverne
Registration: Not required

If you're a fan of dinosaurs, you've probably dreamed of having a dinosaur to watch over you, secretly hiding in the jungle just to view them, or maybe trying to touch one. Come to the library and participate in our games, crafts, and activities on dinosaurs! Win tickets to American Museum of Natural history and celebrate their 150 years of bringing the past to life. Other prizes and surprises while supplies last. This program is suggested for ages 5 and up.

Bring Your Story: Ali Bello & The Latin American Songbook

Violinist Ali Bello and his ensemble present an intimate encounter of melody, harmony, and voice that brings a new perspective on the rich musical repertoire of Latin American and captures the vibrant legacy of styles such as boleros, ballads, tangos, guarachas, festejos, and bossas.

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
