Location: Rego Park

Examine works of art that have been excoriated, defaced, removed, even obliterated because some thought they did not confirm to society's conception of "appropriate" art during their time. View works by such artists as Michaelangelo, Manet, Chagal, Picasso, and others.

ShapeUp NYC: Chair Yoga

Location: Rego Park
Registration: Not required

Instructor Melissa Siegel leads this beginner level chair-based class with a focus on getting more in touch with the body through breathing and body flexibility exercises. Participants should wear comfortable clothing. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Writing Workshop with New York Writers Coalition Leader Elena Schwolsky

Location: Rego Park

Reimagine End of Life Week is a city-wide exploration of big questions about life and death through creativity and conversation. Join a special creative writing workshop exploring end-of-life themes led by NYWC’s workshop leader and author, nurse, and community health educator Elena Schwolsky. Share in the dialogue about loss, denial, wonder, and preparation through writing.


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
