Memories of Migration: Making a Talking Family Story Quilt

A special workshop to share migration stories creatively. Different generations will partner to tell the story of their family’s journey. Partners do not have to be from the same family. This 6 session workshop will lead partners through storytelling, electronics and textile art making. The result will be a talking story quilt which will be displayed. We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
