Are You Getting Your Benefits?

Over 2 million New Yorkers are eligible for SNAP benefits. SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which issues electronic benefits that can be used like cash to purchase food. Stop by the library for a SNAP eligibility screening. If you meet the requirements, get help filling out an application.

Jewelry Making and Design

Location: Fresh Meadows

A series of three art projects. 1) Pearl necklace and earring set done on needlework canvas as a base which is then embellished in jewels; 2) Cuff adjustable bracelet; 3) Jewelry trinket box embellished with trimming. Registration is required. 718-454-7272

Classic Concert

"Music critics have described I-Heung Lee's performance as graceful, thoughtful and intelligent, touched with a unique style of artistic sophistication. Ms. Lee performs extensively in Asia as well as at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York. Her repertoire includes works by Mozart, Franz Liszt, Maurice Ravel and Frederic Chopin."


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
