Applying for SNAP benefits

SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which issues electronic benefits that can be used like cash to purchase food. Stop by the Fresh Meadows Library on Wednesday mornings for a SNAP eligibility screening, and if you meet the requirements, get help filling out the application.

Intermediate Level Watercolor/Drawing

This is an eight week program where participants will learn a variety of intermediate level drawing and watercolor techniques that will sharpen their capacity to see in ways artists see. The ninth session will be a culminating event consisting of a gallery showing of participants' work. This is a Lifetime Arts Creative Aging program for adults age 50 and up. What did you read this summer? Meet up with other teens to share your thoughts on what you’ve read and hear from others. Please come prepared to talk about a book or graphic novel you’ve read recently (even if you didn’t like it!).


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
