Classical Piano Concert with Albert Zak

This program features three twentieth century masterpieces for solo piano: Prokofiev’s Eighth Sonata, Op. 84 (considered to be the profoundest of the Prokofiev Sonatas), Debussy’s groundbreaking piece of French Impressionism Reflections in the Water, and de Falla’s Fantasia Baetica, his tribute to the cultural vibrancy of Andalusian Spain. Moving for Life

Moving for Life incorporates gentle warm-ups, light aerobics, and targeted strengthening in a way that is fun and enjoyable for all! Workouts can be done seated or standing. You are encouraged to do what is comfortable and modify based on your energy, range of motion, or fitness level. We start where you are, so don’t worry if you haven’t been moving in a while. This program is first-come, first- served and for adults 18 and older.

QEDC: Business Plan Competition

The Queens Economic Development Corporation’s Annual Queens StartUP! Business Plan Competition begins in September 2018. The competition gives entrepreneurs a chance to strengthen their business knowledge, learn about business trends, and gain insights into starting and growing a business while also introducing them to the vast resources available to them at Queens Library. Significant Accomplishments: Since the being chartered almost eight years ago, the Friends membership has grown to 100 current members.  Donated proceeds from the 2012 Holiday Christmas card sale to victims of Hurricane Sandy. The Friends p purchased 15 new headphones for our computer lab and flash drives for the Flushing Adult Learning Center.

Friends Fun Facts: The Friends also hosted a book fundraiser during a Kimche demonstration.
