Free Citizenship Classes

Location: Broadway
Registration: Not required

Learn everything you need to know about American history, government, and culture to pass the citizenship exam. Participants must attend the entire 12-class series. Please arrive at 10 am sharp on Wednesday, April 3 to register in person at the Broadway Library (first-come, first-served) or call 718-278-4303 to preregister in advance. Candidates must be green card holders. The first day of class is the registration day when they should bring a copy of their green card.

Three-Dimensional Geometric Origami with Karen Wellington

In this program, origami and paper engineering techniques are used to make different types of three-dimensional geometric shapes such a pentagon bowl and rectangular prisms which can be used to store things. Rockabye Baby: Safe Sleep

Everyone wants to take the best care of their children. Whether you're a parent, babysitter, or considering having a child, come learn about ways that you can keep your baby safe while they sleep. All are welcome.


Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
