Details: Customers are required to attend all sessions of this program. Registering for this session will reserve your spot for the entire program.

This is an innovative 12- week program that lets tweens (ages 9-12) reinterpret their favorite books using tech tools, apps, and programs. Participants will develop technological, analytic, and interpersonal skills while creating book-inspired temporary tattoos and stickers, pin-backed buttons, postcards, comic strips, stop-motion animation, video games using Scratch coding, and video slideshows. Registration required.

Magic Tree House Book Club

Free Citizenship Classes

Participants must attend the entire 12-class series. Please arrive at 10 am sharp on Thursday, October 4 to register in person at the library (first come, first served)
or call 718.278.4303 to register in advance. Candidates must be Green Card holders. The first day of class is the Registration day when they should bring a copy
of their Green Card. Students must be able to arrive at 10 am sharp on Thursdays to be granted admission to the class.

Kindness Club: Gift-Making Workshop Series

Spread some kindness! Children ages 6-12 will make gifts and cards for family, friends, and people in need of a little extra kindness. We will complete a different project each week, including friendship bracelets, fleece scarves, beaded jewelry, and greeting cards. Some of each week's creations will be shared with those in need. Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
