STACKS is a free enrichment program for children grades 1 to 8. STACKS was created to enhance participant's learning experiences through structured and unstructured age-appropriate activities in a safe and welcoming environment that helps school-age children build their emotional, social, and academic skills. Homework help is the keystone of the STACKS program. It occurs daily after school for 60-90 minutes. Registration is required. Please come to the library during STACKS hours to register.

Shape Up NYC: Yoga for Adults

Location: Bayside
Registration: Not required

This healing session is appropriate for those who wish to finally add the healing qualities of yoga into their lives. Instructor Alice moves the body through the classical poses very slowly, gently, and conscientiously. You will also learn important breathing exercises. Everyone will leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. Please bring a yoga mat and water to keep hydrated, and wear comfortable clothing. Space is limited. Participation is first-come, first-served.

Kickoff to Kindergarten

Parents and other caregivers can help children learn the skills they need to be successful before they start pre-kindergarten. During eight weekly sessions, library staff will show parents, caregivers, and children how to use games, hands-on activities, and stories that help build the most important language and social skills. Children must be at least 3 years old by the first session of the program. Registration is required; please speak with children's librarian.

Thank you for your interest in the Friends of the Library at Queens Library.

We currently do not have a Friends group at this location, however, kindly contact the Friends Administrator (friends@queenslibrary.org) to find an active Friends group near you. 

Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by:

• Increasing community awareness and library use.
• Acting as liaisons between community and your library.
• Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community.

As a Friend, you will:

• Educate your community about Queens Library’s vital services.
• Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at your library.
• Advocate for better library service to your own community through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising.
