This Weekend at Queens Library

This weekend at Queens Library, improve your American Sign Language, take an assessment test to see if you’re ready for the High School Equivalency Exam, participate in an artist workshop, flex your muscles at an intro to chair yoga class, enjoy a musical tribute to Curtis Mayfield and Sam Cooke, see a movie, and attend a lecture about Chinese culture (in Chinese). American Sign Language II
This course is designed for those who already have a working knowledge of ASL. Students will participate in exercises to help improve their finger spelling and develop expressive and receptive skills. Class is 90 minutes long and space is very limited.

ProjectArt Super Artist Workshop
Unleash your inner "super artist!" Children ages 4-12 will collaborate to create a city panorama, complete with mini figures. Parents are welcome. Introduction to Chair Yoga with Irene Failenbogen

Pop/jazz vocalist Cody Childs takes you back to the great music of Curtis Mayfield and Sam Cooke with some of the songs they made great: from Mayfield’s “People Get Ready” and “I’m So Proud” to Cooke’s “Bring It On Home To Me,” “Having a Party” and more.

Sunday Movie: Dracula Untold
Director Gary Shore revamps the mythos of Vlad the Impaler in "Dracula Untold" (2014). The horror tale takes place in 15th-century Romania during the Turkish invasion, as Prince Vlad, played by Luke Evans, goes to extraordinary lengths to fight for his homeland.
