ShapeUp NYC: Just Keep Moving
Instructor Alice Ostrowsky leads this low-impact aerobics class choreographed to music that aims to increase cardiovascular health while reducing the stress on joints and feet. Participants will perform exercises that will improve muscle mass and mobility and also strengthen and tone the abs. Space is limited. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. Full Circle Writer's Workshop

Lincoln Center Local ScreeningFrom Bocelli to Barton: The Richard Tucker Opera Gala
Lincoln Center is partnering with Queens Library to bring free screenings of world-class performances to your neighborhood. In this screening of a concert filmed in November 2015, Renée Fleming and 2015 Richard Tucker Award winner Jamie Barton are joined by Andrea Bocelli, Lawrence Brownlee, and other great voices for one of the perennial highlights of the opera season. Diana Mittler-Battipaglia, music professor at Lehman College and co-founder of Con Brio Ensemble, will lead a group discussion about the enduring appeal of opera following the screening. Light refreshments will be served.

Open Mic for Poets
Our featured reader KC Trommer is the author of the chapbook “The Hasp Tongue” (dancing girl press, 2014). A graduate of the MFA program at The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, KC has won an Academy of American Poets Prize and the 2015 Fugue Poetry Prize. Her poem “The Cyclone” was set to music by the Grammy Award-winning composer Herschel Garfein for the 2017 Five Boroughs Music Festival. Her recent work appears in the anthologies “Resist Much, Obey Little” and “Bared.”
